HostGator has introduced a tool called Easy Page Call, designed to simplify the process for individuals looking to establish an online presence. This tool acts as a straightforward page creator, enabling users to publish a basic webpage or a temporary page quickly.
The process of publishing a page is quick and straightforward, making it perfect for individuals without expertise in design or programming. By using the tool, entering basic information, and choosing a design, a personalized webpage with key business details can be created in just a few minutes.
There are various tools available for creating a temporary webpage or an online business card, such as WordPress and website builders. However, Easy Page stands out for its simplicity and quick publishing time, taking only a few minutes.
The feature can be beneficial in certain situations.
- For individuals who have their own domain and want a basic website for their business.
- Creating a website and needing to quickly publish a temporary page while the site is under construction.
The tool generates a basic webpage with useful functions like responsive design for various screen sizes and a Google Maps link for easy location access by visitors.
To utilize the feature at no cost, all you need is a domain and a hosting plan from HostGator Brasil, such as shared hosting (P, M, or Business) for website creation or reselling (under the primary account).
Easy Page may not be suitable for users with technical expertise or those seeking greater flexibility in customizing pages.
We do not advise using it in place of a website builder or a CMS such as WordPress because its capabilities are significantly restricted.
How does Easy Page function in reality?
Now that you have gained some knowledge about the tool, it’s time to provide a detailed explanation of its functionality. This will give you a clear understanding of what to anticipate and how to utilize it. Are you ready?
Before commencing
To make a page in the tool, you must have the subsequent information:
- A heading for the webpage
- A brief description of up to 220 characters.
- Contact information (phone number, address, and email)
- Social media profile links
- A symbol
- An image suitable for the page footer
If you do not possess all the information mentioned, there is no need to be concerned. The fields are not mandatory. You can either prepare all the content in advance or fill in the details gradually.
Access the client section in the first step.
To begin, go to the customer area and click on the “Easy Page” button. You don’t have to use the HostGator control panel, which is beneficial as cPanel can be overwhelming for new users.
Enter your business information in Step 2.
Clicking on Easy Page will prompt you to enter the initial information on your page, as illustrated in the screenshot provided.
Enter the domain, title, and page description.
The domain selected for the hosting account is the first field as it is already linked to the account.
You need to provide the main information of your business in a concise manner in the title and description fields. The description should not go beyond 220 characters and the formatting is fixed, without any customization options.
Choose an image for the background
It’s time to select a background image for your page by choosing a category that fits your area of expertise, as each category offers a specific background image option.
The category choices are restricted, so you might not discover an ideal category for your business. If this is the situation, don’t fret because you can upload a custom background image. I suggest this alternative if you want to avoid having multiple pages that look similar to yours. Utilize your own business image or select from the numerous free professional images online to provide a distinct appearance to your page.
I decided to test the custom background to demonstrate how it works. Initially, the background image didn’t load, but I resolved the issue by renaming the image file, which had spaces in the name. I have already shared a suggestion for improvement with HostGator, but here’s a tip if you plan to use this feature. 😉
Insert a logo.
You can choose to use a logo or an icon that represents your business on your page if you don’t have an image. The iconfinder offers a diverse selection of free, attractive, and straightforward icons for this purpose.
Click “Next” after completing all fields.
Fill out contact information.
Just enter your phone number, email, and address to automatically see the information displayed in the page preview. If you prefer not to input any data, you can leave those fields empty.
The option to include a link to Google Maps allows users to easily access a map showing the location of your business with just a click on the address. While displaying the map directly on the page would be optimal, having this link is already beneficial.

To ensure that the address appears accurately on Google Maps, HostGator recommends entering the information in the following format: “Street, number, neighborhood, city.”
Enter your social media accounts in step 4.
Enter your social media profile links in the provided spaces. Include links for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube. If you do not have any of these profiles, simply leave the corresponding space blank. Once the page is published, only the links will be visible.
The tool automatically adds social network links as shown in the image, without allowing for style or position customization. The tool is designed for creating temporary pages quickly.
Click on “Next” to proceed to the final stage of the tool.
Activate the contact form on your page in Step 5.
The final stage in creating a webpage involves adding a contact form to enable easier communication between visitors and your business. If you prefer not to include it, you can simply deactivate this feature.

The tool already includes standard form fields like name, phone number, email, and message, which are mandatory to fill out, except for the phone number.
I tested the message submission form and received the email in my inbox in under a minute, indicating that everything functioned correctly.
Integration with RD Station
HostGator Easy Page provides a way to connect with the RD Station marketing automation tool through form integration, which is currently the sole integration option.
To access this feature, you need to be an RD client and complete two fields as illustrated in the screenshot. I have not personally tested the integration, but for a detailed understanding of the process, refer to the HostGator help page.
Post your page in step 6.
The page can be published once everything is completed, typically taking between 2 to 10 minutes to create, depending on the individual’s familiarity with the content. If you already have a clear idea for the page, the process is quick.
When you click “Conclude”, a message will appear confirming that any existing content on the domain will be removed and replaced with the new content as a precaution against accidental deletion by the user.
By selecting “Yes”, the page is published and the following screen is displayed.
If your domain is active and has correctly configured DNS, you can view the published page on the internet using your address. If not, you may need to wait up to 72 hours for this to happen (although in my experience, it typically takes around 24 hours).

Accessing your webpage
You can access your page using a temporary URL provided by HostGator when you sign up for a plan, even if it doesn’t have a permanent address or the DNS has propagated.
If your domain has finished propagating, simply type your address into your browser to view the result. You can get an idea of the outcome by looking at the images below or by visiting this test domain: http://meuprimeirosite.biz/.

Mobile edition
The illustration demonstrates how the page appears on a mobile device, adjusting to the specific device being used.
The mobile adaptation of the page was satisfactory, but there is room for improvement. The logo was positioned too closely to the title below it. Using an image with a larger margin could potentially resolve this problem.
Updating the webpage
You can edit the page anytime using the tool, and when you publish the changes, it will replace the previous version.
Disabling a webpage.
You can easily delete a page by clicking on “Unable Easy Page”, as shown in the image.
This option is beneficial if you built your website using WordPress or another platform (hosted on HostGator) and wish to have it accessible on the domain used for Easy Page.
This feature enables the domain to refresh the standard hosting files (index.html or index.php) rather than the content on Easy Page, as stated by HostGator.

Will my website show up on Google?
Your page may only appear in search results that include your domain name, as the tool has limitations. A highly ranked website requires extensive content, pages, optimized code, and other important factors.
To have your page indexed by Google, it must be made aware of its existence. This can be achieved by obtaining a link to your page from sources such as a website, partner blog, or any legitimate link.
To simplify how Google indexes your website, you can review the domain in Search Console, a free tool that provides a detailed view of how Google perceives and indexes your site.
Conclusion
The Easy Page does exactly what it promises: helping users create a temporary webpage or a basic online business card.
The process is efficient and quick, with no need for technical expertise from the page creators, resulting in a straightforward and practical page that is compatible with all devices.
I do not suggest using it in place of a website, especially for those aiming to establish a strong online presence, due to its simplicity.
